Improving First Responder Capacity by Reducing False Alarms

This report demonstrates how Innovate Memphis uses qualitative and quantitative data to identify actionable root causes, generate ideas for solutions, and test and evaluate promising ideas. In this example, we tested different communications approaches to educate property owners about a new metro alarms ordinance. As a result, we found effective ways improve compliance with the ordinance, reduce the number of false alarms, and free up first responders to prioritize true emergencies.
