Innovate Memphis is seeking an Executive Director. This position will oversee and direct strategic and operational responsibility for Innovate Memphis staff, programs, and expansion, in alignment with the Innovate Memphis mission.

Founded in 2012 as the Mayor’s Institute for Excellence in Government, Innovate Memphis was one of the first five innovation teams funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies. The Innovate Memphis team now serves the City of Memphis and other public sector partners, as well as collaborates with diverse stakeholders across public, private and non-profit sectors. Simply, we connect the dots between sectors, create tactical strategies and collaborative opportunities, and seek ways to improve communities and neighborhoods throughout our city and region.

We are proud to be a unique hybrid civic innovation office, incubator, research and development think tank, and trusted agent of positive change. We develop initiatives, nurture partnerships and incubate solutions to move Memphis forward and deliver impactful, sustained transformation.

Innovate Memphis has led or supported the launch of many new organizations, programs, and partnerships, including: MEMShop, MEMFix, City of Memphis Office of Performance Management, Safe Summer, 901 B.L.O.C., Bloom, Memphis Commute Challenge, Memphis CoPass, Bluff City Snapshot, CleanSTAT, Memphis Property Hub, the Civic Data Forum, the EMS RADAR, Nurse Dispatch, and Healthcare Navigator pilots, and 901RideChoice.

The organization currently works in four main areas: City Innovation Projects, Reimagining the Civic Commons, Transportation and Mobility, and we serve as the National Neighborhood Indicators Partnership partner for the region, delivering data resources, analysis, and capacity-building to local place-based organizations.

This position provides a unique opportunity to work in a highly collaborative environment to deliver social and civic impact. If you care about making your city a better place and you’re up for the challenge of leading and seeding change, this might be the role for you.

We encourage those interested in the position to review the full job description, responsibilities, qualifications. Interested parties should submit a cover letter and resume by May 23 to careers@innovatememphis.com
